using KDE Plasma on CachyOS with my FW12 i5 sometimes the bottom most line of pixels is flickering. Not the whole display as some have reported here, but only this one line.
It’s not a really big thing but a bit annoying. Do you have this too?
I also installed CachyOS with Gnome, there I did not recognize this behaviour.
it’s probably a fractional scaling bug; they’ve worked to improve this in KDE, and most recent versions are better, but depending on how up to date your distro is, or if you’re using Wayland or X11 you might still see some bad behaviour. try changing the scale up/down a bit and see if that resolves it.
Thanks a lot. This makes sense to me. I switched from 115% to 100% (to be sure), and it disappeared. As fractional scaling is not available in Gnome ootb I did not have this issue there.
on the 12 i’ve been running 125% scaling under wayland and haven’t seen any meaningful issues, if you’re looking for a “tested” scaling, but that might look a bit big to your eyes if you were trying 110%. the only thing i’ve seen is the user icon in the application menu looks a little weird, but it doesn’t bother me.
