I have a FW13 laptop, in the process of cleaning some spilt tea off of the outside and inside, I seem to have degraded my touchpad.
The trackpad donesnt seem to have as much vertical travel when left clicked, and also seems to rest lower in the frame for the same reason.
What can I check/modify to attempt to repair this?
Look at this: Touchpad Replacement Guide - Framework Guides
Start by just removing the top cover and visually inspecting the touchpad and the things near/under it from the inside.
I recommend entering the BIOS setup before you begin and doing “battery disconnect”. This helps reduce the chance of causing damage while working of the laptop without having to physically mess with the delicate battery connector.
Lightly moisten a soft, non shedding, cloth and use it to clean up any mess you find inside.
Best case, you may just need to loosen the screws that hold the touchpad in place and reposition it slightly before gently tightening them again.
Worst case (unlikely I think) order a new touchpad.
