In the last few days, I noticed my mouse is “jumping” or “skipping” when I first move it. It happens randomly, but >60% of the time. It makes small fine movement very difficult, which is a problem when editing text.

The rest of my display motion, besides the usual ghosting, is OK. This video, for instance, plays back fine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vigX3H7WX5Q

On a mouse, it’s fine, but it’s noticable with my trackpad even on another monitor. It also shows up in videos. It becomes especially noticable halfway through this OBS recording when I start dragging the window around diagonally:

Anyone else seeing this? I feel like I’m going crazy. I haven’t seen much discussion recently on KDE or Arch forums but I might not be hitting the right keywords.

Booted into Ubuntu to sanity check. Seems that on Jammy w/ GNOME the issue is resolved. I tried KDE with Xorg and the problem seemed to persist, so this might be a KDE thing.

This also seems to be an issue on my ThinkPad P14s Gen 4 on Arch KDE Wayland. Both the trackpad and the TrackPoint suffer from it. So odd that my mouse doesn’t. Could it have something to do with the PS/2 emulation?
