I’m running fedora 40 on my new framework 13 (prebuilt). Alongside the built-in display it also detects an additional display that doesn’t exist which it calls Unknown 28" display. It’s easy to disable this display in settings but it makes multi-monitor setup quite difficult. Would be glad of advice on how to remove it permanently.
This is a regression introduced with kernel 611-rc5 and 6.10.8. A fix is available in 6.11.1, I don’t think it has been backported to 6.10.
Check the issue here: Two displays appears as connected, but only one display actually is (#12160) · Issues · drm / i915 / kernel · GitLab
Fedora should release 6.11.3 soon. If you don’t want to wait, you can install a testing version from FEDORA-2024-86f8d089b8 — enhancement update for kernel and kernel-headers — Fedora Updates System
