Updated Fedora, Bluetooth No Longer Working

Installed Fedora Workstation 42, Bluetooth was working. Updated it, Bluetooth has stopped working. Can boot from the older version of Fedora Workstaton 42 on the installation USB and Bluetooth works.

Attempted to rollback to the previous version of “bluez” as per another user’s post on this forum, but that did not resolve my issue. Does anyone know what I might be able to do to bring Bluetooth back online?

If you go to the terminal and type

rpm -qa | grep ^bluez

What are the version numbers?

Mine had to be:

bluez-5.80-1.fc42.x86_64
bluez-cups-5.80-1.fc42.x86_64
bluez-libs-5.80-1.fc42.x86_64
bluez-obexd-5.80-1.fc42.x86_64

… otherwise bluetooth wouldn’t work.

Downgrade and reboot fixed it for me.

sudo dnf downgrade bluez

This changed the version from 5.83 to 5.80

Fedora was updated to resolve my issue before I had the chance to implement these solutions, but I appreciate your responses and I will definitely be coming back to this thread if this issue happens again!

Hello, I’m in the same situation you were but without the chance of having an update to fix it. Do you have any recommandations, I’m one 5.80-1 ver. of bluez and my network adapter is the mt7925
