USB-A expansion card disconnects after Linux shutdown

I recently got a Framework 13 AMD AI 350. I’ve been encountering an issue where I have a USB-A expansion card in the laptop, like if I boot from a USB drive plugged in that way into Linux, and then I reboot the laptop. Upon restart, the laptop will not recognize the drive that is plugged in to that USB-A port. The boot menu will not even show that drive, even if I unplug and replug it from the USB-A port. It’s not limited to USB drives, either, as I have seen that with a USB keyboard, where it will not detect the keyboard after a restart.

The “fix” for this seems to be either removing the USB-A expansion card and reinserting it, or just unplugging the laptop from power, waiting a little while, and restarting it. In both cases then it sees the USB-A expansion card on the next boot.

I have tried a different USB-A expansion card with the same issue.

Does anyone else’s Framework 13 do this? Is this a known issue? Thanks.

same issue here. only experienced it recently for the first time and am not with the laptop right now so I can’t try to reproduce it yet.

some extra (but possibly irrelevant) info:
I experienced it for the first time after plugging in my charger to my USB C port in the back right slot, and attempting to plug a flash drive into the USB A in the front right slot. The “fix” of unplugging and plugging the USB A card back in worked for me as well when I was trying to fix this earlier.
