(USB?) Microphone does not work on Bazzite KDE

I got my Framework 13 AI 7 350 in yesterday, and installed Bazzite KDE (switching to Linux for the first time in 12 years). I am used to windows (and SteamOS on my livingroom gaming PC), and bazzite seemed like the most friendly solution.

After updating the kernel, and installing the software I need, I found out that the Microphone does not work. I tried my Bluetooth earbuds, and the microphone on those does work. Then I tried an external USB microphone, which does not work either.

In the system settings and audacity it shows the Family 17h/19h/1ah HD Audio Controller (headset mono and the digital microphone)

I installed a camera application, which shows Digital Microphone and ALC285 Analog.

Neither Audacity nor the Camera app seem to record audio using the default mic or the usb c mic. Recording did work when I used my bluetooth earbods.

I made sure that the physical switch is on (aka, the orange is not visible)

Is there anyone where who knows what the issue might be? I imagine something driver related.

I really like the laptop so far and look forward to use it as one of my daily drivers

Issue resolved after talking to customer support

Internal mic:

was a cable issue. reseating it fixed it

External USB mic:

seems there is some compatibility issue with the EPOS expand capture 5 and Linux.

tried another USB microphone (blue snowball) at home which works fine.

Having the same issue with a bluetooth headset. Last night I did a fresh install* (and moved from bazzite gnome to kde) and I’m still having the same problem.

Did you try a system update and restart? I have not had any issues with Bluetooth headphones, and the EPOS microphone started working as well
