I’ve had my Framework 13 for about 6 months now and have loved it. But over time I’ve noticed when it’s pitch quiet that the laptop makes some weird but very quiet electronic jittering noises. I was curious what this could be and if it is something I should look out for or if it is normal.
It could be a coil wine. What CPU do you have? I recall having seen something regarding AMD chips, but I do not remember which version.
It might be coil wine. I have the Ryzen 7640U chip. My previous laptop was a Ryzen 7735U but didn’t make any noises.
I recall seeing something, somewhere about a coilwine/noise on the Ryzen 7000 chips. When I have more time I will check and report back. Did you send a message to support about it?

To my understanding, the design of the motherboard, and the power delivery components specifically, affects how much coil-whine a device may have - but it also varies from unit to unit. (Maybe due to minor manufacturing/component variance?) I have a FW13 AMD 7840U for 2 years now, and I’ve never noticed coil whine. Sorry if that’s not much help 
I haven’t noticed any performance issues and I’ve had the laptop for 7 months now, if anything I’ve noticed the battery life improve a lot after some firmware updates. The sound is hardly noticeable unless I am in a dead quiet area and put my ear close to the laptop. I was just trying to ensure this isn’t something to be concerned about.
I’m noticing a quiet crackling noise in my FW13 Intel 11th Gen, too. I can only assume that its due to electricity because it happens when the fan is on and off and it is loudest away from the speakers. I hear it most clearly with my ear to the back of the laptop, just below the air vent, though I can still hear if I just lean my ear towards the device (6 inches away). Everything looks to be running fine, but I can’t help but worry there’s a tiny arc happening.
I have had these types of noises with plenty of laptops and computers before (though not with my Framework 13 yet!). I remember on my old ThinkPad T60, there’d be a strange electronic sound whenever I would move the cursor. So I feel like these noises should probably be nothing to worry about? Though of course it depends on the exact type of noise. But generally, I think it should be fine?
