I am aware of the fact that framework is not shipping to a lot of countries, like India where I’m from. We are eager to get our hands on a framework laptop. We know you guys are trying your best to make it available in more places, but the wait is killing us.
So I was wondering if there is anything we can do to make the process of making the framework products available in our country quick, and maybe get our own framework laptop as a Christmas gift for ourselves ( by the end of this year max ). This can include @Framework addressing hurdles specific to a country and discussing what the community can do about it.
I hope this post can spark a wave of community activities that removes the obstacles for getting our hands on a framework laptop asap.
I do not think lack of interest registering from user side is why they haven’t reached a lot of countries. I’m asking for reasons, hurdles that community can help them with.
As they have never said what criteria they use to determine markets to expand into, I don’t think there is anything you can do, except express interest, the rest is legal, logistical and internal business that Framework don’t need help with.
Contact your state and federal officials about the challenges any company faces trying to do business in your country.
The officials will defend that they are easy to do business with however this is certainly not the case otherwise more companies would gladly be doing business with them. (Especially since more business means more tax dollars)
This will not only help make it easier for companies like Framework, other companies will benefit from less red tape to establish a larger user base.
Every country is different as they all have unique requirements, regulations, reporting, and costs to operate within. If pressure is put on the regulators and elected officials the system will ideally change for the better.
