I would imagine that it refers to something like GRUB’s option to display dmesg
on boot (when Plymouth is uninstalled).
@knipp30, disabling it doesn’t appear to change anything for me – I didn’t see any messages at POST with it disabled. I expect it solely displays error messages? If so, how strange that the feature would come enabled, in effect hiding any errors with the configuration and adding boot time.
Disabling both Quick Boot and Quiet Boot should allow you to see text as your RAM is tested just before the big Framework logo appears. You can also increase the delay if the text disappears before you can read it.
@Brian_Gregory is right that disabling both features will display the traditional BIOS text all computers used to have.
Quick Boot: Disables some of the unnecessary tests during Power On Self-Test (POST).
Quiet Boot: Disabling it will show the text display as POST progresses in place of just the Framework Logo.
