does the DIY Edition (12th Gen Intel) ship with an wifi card? I can‘t find an option to order one

Yes, after many reports of difficulties attaching tiny socket caps to the WiFi board, Framework changed the assembly process at the factory to include the networking card and the antenna.
The caveat is that you don’t get to choose which card, assuming your CPU supports VPro.
