Windows 11 24h2, Hibernate, Fastboot problems

Yesterday I installed my new Zen5 Mainbaord, and installed the new driver package, but I had the issue that I couldnt shutdown my laptop, it always restarsts.

Using shutdown.exe /s, helps so he turned off correctly, then I disabled fastboot, that also helped.

I deciced to reinstall a fresh windos. but know I have exactly the same problem. I attached some screnshots.

Anyone an idea?

Regards

same for me, first i was wondering if i did a full shutdown by mistake but it turned out that the laptop had crashed while in hibernate mode.

Do you have the same eventlog entries?

similar but not all the same, the kernel boot one is missing for me but the kernel power one is there multiple times as well as many of the others.

Do you have an Samsung NVME Drive and the Samsung NVME Driver installed?

I’m still in testing mode, atm I did the following

  • Installed latest AMD Driver directly from AMD for GPU and Chipset.
  • Installed all open Windows updates including driver for my Intel Wifi AX210.
  • Unzipped Framework driver packages and installed one by one.

I made an reboot, between all driver installations and tested hibernate and shutdown until the error appears.

  • I installed the following driver from the framework pack
    03, 06, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14

STILL NO PROBLEM WITH HIBERNATE AND SHUTDOWN

  • installed Samsung NVM Express Driver 3.3 (for my 970Pro)

Got the issue with hibernate and shutdown.

After uninstall the NVME Driver from Samsung, problem disappeared again

Now I will try to install the whole FW Driver pack and try again

I reinstalled a fresh windows, installed the framework driver pack. Updated everything through windows update including drivers for intel wifi card.

I didnt install the Samsung driver, and everything is still working as expected.

I have read elsewhere that the NVME Samsung drivers have had issues in the last few years. They make awesome SSD drives but the drivers, I will pass on! Glad you got it figured out! Congrats!
