Does anyone have any recommendations for wireless mice that are the same color as the FW 13 panels?
Welcome to the community!
When you say “panels,” are you talking about the bezels? Or just the general silver color of the FW 13.
My current, favorite mouse is the Logitech MX Master 3S. It’s expensive, but it works very well, has quiet clicks and scrolling, and I love the horizontal scroll wheel. I use the horizontal scroll wheel a LOT. It is available in white and black. I kinda wish it just took AA batteries, rather than having a built-in battery, but other than that, it’s basically my ideal mouse.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I mean the silver color of the outside. If you have the MX master in white have you noticed and discoloration?
I have a white one and haven’t noticed any discoloration yet, but I imagine it might start to look a little dingy over the years. However, I also have a black one that gets all day, every day use at work, and, ironically, it looks dirty. It has white-ish build-up in a couple places. The white one still looks perfect, but it doesn’t get nearly as much use.
The one on the left has been used every day for work for quite a while. The white one is used for video editing and doesn’t get nearly as much use. But you can see it’s actually a slight off-white color, with silver accents. It goes well with a FW laptop. And you can see the residue on the black one. Dead skin, maybe? I know that’s gross, but that’s all I can think of. It comes off, but it takes some scrubbing. Edit: Nope, it’s just the textured coating on the rubber loosening up as it wears off. It looks whiteish where it’s starting to come loose.
Keep in mind, I’m just one guy with one opinion. I obviously really like that mouse, but maybe others will chime in as well.
I use a Logitech MX Ergo trackball with my FL16. Operates great on Bluetooth.
Mine is dark grey, with the trackball being a slightly lighter silvery grey.
If it had a horizontal scroll wheel, I’d probably have gone with that. There is a lot to like about a trackball mouse. They are truly “use anywhere” because you don’t have to move them around. So even if you only have a tiny/uneven/whatever place to set it and can’t move the mouse around, you can still use a trackball mouse.
I looked closer, and it’s not that at all. There is a slight, textured finish on the rubber. Turns out, it’s a textured coating. It is totally worn on in a couple places (leaving smooth rubber underneath). Around the edges of where it’s worn off, it’s loose and flaky, making it look whiteish. If I scrub at it, the loose parts come off and it looks a little better, until more gets flaky. At least it isn’t getting sticky and gooey, like some rubber coatings do. If anything, I think the white one would look better after a bunch of use when this starts to happen.
