(A Bit Early to make?) A Framework 16 AMD Ryzen AI 300 Batch 4 Guild

To Preface before: I have NO idea if there is an “unwritten” rule as to whether there is a certain amount of time before the Framework Batch Ships before we have to make a Guild. Seeing as there is no Batch 4 Guild Post (which is the batch My FW16 is set to ship with), I figured I would at least start a Batch 4 Guild, even if there isn’t much discussion or if someone else starts it closer to shipping and it gets more replies (which I am not going to be mad at btw, nor will I blame Mods if This is indeed too early and its taken down)

But anyways, here’s what my FW16 consists of:

Processor: AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 (With the Expansion Shell Only) (Fun fact: Only the 2nd Computer I’ve gotten that has AMD, the first was one of those Cheap Mini PCs)

RAM: 32GB (2 16x DDR5-5600)

Storage: 2TB SSD (WD_BLACK™ SN7100 NVMe™)

Power Adaptor: 240W (Though I initially was not planning on getting this, but after seeing a few videos, I decided to get it)

Bezel: Black (Basic, I know lol)

Operating System: Windows 11 Pro (And Possibly A small 64-128GB Ubuntu/Linux Distro to dual-boot if I feel like doing it)

Keyboard: RGB US English (Had to go RGB)

Modules: Macropad (I Really wish there was an RGB Numpad to match the keyboard, but I’m fine with getting a Macropad as well)

Expansion Cards: 3x USB-C, SD Card, Micro SD, USB-A, HDMI, and Audio Jack

Rationale: I have basically been wanting a “Jack of all trades” Esque Laptop for a while, while also wanting a sleek-looking laptop, while doing everything I will need.

But anyways, I’m wondering what my fellow Batch 4 FW16 buddies have configured?

I’m in batch 7 and have no idea how these batch guild threads work.

I’m going DIY with HX 370, RTX 5070, already have the RAM kit in hand (Crucial 2x48GB). Orange bezel, orange spacers, transparent orange USB-C expansion cards. Can’t wait!

Nice!

I opted not to get the RTX 5070 (However i could consider it in the future) due to me already feeling like the ryzen 9 will be a pretty big jump for gaming in on of itself.

And yeah as for the guilds, im assuming as it gets closer to ship date (In both of our cases it would be December) more and more of these guilds will start popping up.

i don’t think we will be seeing emails until next week at the earliest for batch 4, the wait is so hard.

Sometime Next Week hopefully should be when the payment goes through

And then sometime Mid-December is when hopefully Batch 4 ships out

I decided to Nix one of the USB-Cs to get an extra USB-A module. Didnt even affect the price

I’m in batch 4 as well. I’m hoping for the second or third week of December, but we’ll see.

On another note:

Did anyone reading this get the 7700s 2nd Gen too? I feel like there are only talks about the 5070 Module.

I am batch 9 :frowning:. Really hoping I get my laptop before Christmas. I am using a Mac M1 Max and using nixos-apple-silicon and I am dying lol. Support for ARM is sad

I’m batch 7 and doubt I’ll get mine before Christmas at this point. I don’t think batches 1 and 2 have all shipped yet as the FL16 page still says “Sold Out” instead of “Shipped” for those batches.

They’re still showing an estimated December ship date for orders placed today (Which would be batch 9); so either they’re expecting to ramp up the number they’re shipping per week or they need to change that estimate.

That’s what I’m thinking,

I found it weird that the first two batches are November and then Batches 3-9 are all gonna be shipped in December

I’m a little more hopeful mine will come in December because I’m in batch 4 however

My guess is they’ll push the estimate on the product page into January. With the RAM and NAND flash shortages and price increases, I expect they’ll need to push dates back. I agree that they should do this sooner rather than later.

Honestly, I wonder what will happen to the users who bought the DIY version and opted for no RAM or storage like I did. In fact, I already have my RAM and storage in my hands right now. I’m on batch 4, and I hope that I’m able to get mine before Christmas.

I wonder if things are going to get a little complicated with the shipping dates on pre-builts (w/o RAM/SSD) versus pre-builts and DIY that do. Is “batch 4” the same between DIY and pre-built?

@ScarsTRF I’m in the same boat as you, and I’m glad I did given the prices now! If there are any delays because of SSD + RAM prices I hope that doesn’t delay whatever percentage of us didn’t order any.
