Is it possible/has anyone tried to take the parts from the their FW13 and use them in the FW desktop?
I bought a FW13 and I love it but I find myself mostly just using it docked at my desk with an eGPU so I figured it might be better to just get a desktop. I’d love to just pull all the components out of the laptop to use in the desktop but it’s not clear if theyre (mostly the mainboard) compatible. Any insight?
You want to put the 13 mainboard inside an empty desktop case?
They are not compatible but if you want to tinker, go for it! I don’t think it will fit tho 
Yea I was hoping I could just mount the laptop mainboard into a desktop case and have an instant desktop but I suppose that is wishful thinking
Just on the off chance you’re not aware, Framework sells a case for a Laptop 13 mainboard which allows you to use the mainboard as if you would use a mini-PC more or less.
