It should’ve arrived on Monday, but today I was annoyed enough to check UPS for tracking. To my surprise I saw the delivered status on the UPS tracking page, and then I was met by anxiety: the city of delivery was wrong, and of course there was nothing at my doorstep.
I, then, went all the way to my old address in that city, but the current occupants in that house aren’t cooperative, they’re claiming there’s nothing mine that I should pick up there.
Am I screwed now? Where I live it’s perfectly legal to just keep stuff that gets wrongly mailed to you. I cannot even sue them for anything as I don’t have anything here that proves I am the owner of the package. (Name and surname on the delivery label don’t really count much)
The thing that really grinds my gears, though, is that I specified that I moved out to Framework Support, and the UPS label I used to send the laptop to LetMeRepair had the correct sender address, so how could they screw this up even?
It’s not like I can cough up enough for another laptop anyway.
It this repair organised by FW?
Who sends the delivery address to Letmerepair ?
When FW simply replaced a part of my FW16, they did check with me that the address they had was still valid before sending it out.
It sounds like someone at FW or letmerepair skipped that check step in your case.
Here in the UK it is illegal to open or keep mail addressed to someone else.
So, initially, it would be the police, try to recover stollen goods, then if that failed, it would be asking the company that put the wrong delivery address for compensation, and if that failed, the small claims court.
In any case, these sorts of things take a long time to sort out, so patience is what is needed.
It is a shame the person at the wrong address was not a nice person.
Hey @nao I’m just seeing your follow-up to this. My apologies. Please DM me your email address used to contact support and I’ll see what information I can find for you after the holiday. This is taking MUCH longer than normal.
Some days after I followed up here, I had a replacement unit sent. Now said unit is buggy on its own, giving me A0 post codes randomly, but I am still keeping in touch with Support. Do you still want my email?
Hey @nao Apologies for the delay. I’m pretty sure my alerts are dead, will need to check my settings. In the meantime, feel free to shoot me a DM with your email address if you’re still having trouble.
The computer has been working fine; I made sure to test all the way through today. I don’t know why it threw those codes when I was using it the first days. All fine, I should also tell Support though.
