Framework 16 - Fresh Fedora Install Not Working

Which Linux distro are you using? Fedora 43

Which Framework Laptop 16 model are you using? AMD Ryzen™ AI 9 HX 370

I am new to Linux but I’m trying to move away from Windows, and I’m having trouble getting Fedora installed on my new Framework laptop. I’ve been following the steps in the guide provided by Framework, but haven’t had any luck. I’ve tried Rufus with a bunch of combinations to set up the boot drive and also the Fedora Media Writer, but each time I get left at the same screen saying the same thing:

dracut-cmdline[509]: //lib/dracut/hooks/cmdline/29-parce-livenet.sh: line 6: get_url_handler: command not found

Warning: /dev/disk/by-label/Fedora-WS-Live-43 does not exist

Warning: /dev/root does not exist

There’s more to the error screen that I’m not including here, but let me know if there’s any more info that I can provide that would be useful. please help

try using ventoy: Download . Ventoy it lets you drag and drop whole iso into your USB device without unpacking or so.

Make sure you choose UEFI version and then when installing ventoy onto USB drive. Also pick Options —> Partition Style —> GPT to get proper UEFI layout, If it says MBR.

Then click Install and it will format the USB device and setup ventoy, after that copy fedora workstation 43 intel/amd version to the USB device. Then connect it to laptop and power it on and spam F12 or wait for it to automaticly bring up a ROM request, there pick load key from file and select cert file stored on USB device and once it’s installed pick boot and it will boot into USB drive and bring a menu up.

There pick Fedora Workstation 43 and that should load OS without a problem.
