Framework 16 mid plate or connector

  • (Operating System) Windows 11
  • Laptop 16, Laptop, AMD 7040
  • I was assembling my laptop 16 and when I was booting up the laptop in order to install the OS and it popped up with input module board not connected
  • I unscrewed the midplate and connector cable made sure it was securely fashioned and attempted several times but to no avail
Does anyone know what the problem is or a potential solution?

I know that the bios will boot and is ready to install the OS and I could cope a little if I had access to an external keyboard

Did you check both ends of the cable? On the other end the cable should be fully insterted, and there is a flip-up latch on the connector, it should be down competely (but do not force it, if it resists). Pictures of the connectors might help someone spot something not obvious.

You have all keyboard and touchpad modules fully installed, right? I know it will also throw an error if any are not installed or not in contact properly.

There is a Bios option to override at least one check, but you’d probably need a USB keyboard to navagate the bios & toggle it.
