Framework Laptop 16 Won't Play Videos

Running Windows 11 on a pre-built Framework Laptop 16, overkill edition, 32 GB RAM, with the extra graphics expansion bay module. I did the driver bundle and BIOS update right out of the box.

So here’s the issue: I’ve had the laptop for a few months now, and just within the last 24hrs, I’m having a really hard time playing videos through any medium. Youtube, social media, any web browsers either take forever to play videos or won’t play at all. I can’t play videos using the Windows video editing software or its video playback apps. Either the app will just crash after not being able to play the video, or it will remain open but not play the video at all.

I’ve tried restarting the computer multiple times, and making sure that not too many applications / background processes are happening in the task manager. Windows is up to date.

I can’t tell if this is a Windows issue or a Frameworks issue. Is there a video driver update for the laptop besides the one I already installed after setting up the laptop?

Not sure what else to do.

Thank you.

UPDATE

I just downloaded and installed the latest Windows 11 “cumulative update preview” and then restarted the computer. That seems to have fixed the issue. Silliness if you ask me.
