Hello,
I just got my Framework 13 Pro, installed RAM and attempted to boot without an SSD but just got a black screen.
The keyboard is connected, powered (power button illuminated), usb-c charger plugged in and white led on port side, but the display remains black.
Should I just wait for the SSD? I wanted to boot from a live USB and just play around.
Just an update. I re-seated the display connection cables since I’m getting a sense that it might be a display issue.
However, I just set up this laptop so I can’t imagine that this was a result of any installation (since the display comes pre-installed with the base).
One more final thought was that I suppose it could be a result of bad RAM, but I imagine there would be some indication on the display?
Thanks for flagging this to me. I’d recommend starting a support ticket. You can link to this thread and if you can also include photos in the ticket that will help as well!

…@catastrophic But do you know if I should be able to post without an SSD?
Just an update, I put in an SSD, and still nothing. I’ve created a support ticket but this topic title isn’t accurate, I think there’s something else wrong with my machine.
I believe you would get a No Boot Media Detected screen without an SSD, but a ticket is the right call. If you need me or a moderator to edit your title or post just let us know and we can do that if you’re not able to.
So if you could please change the title to FW 13 does not boot.
I’ve gone through 10 or so back and forth messages with support, my diagnostic LEDs appear in sequence as: 12 green, 1 orange, 1 blue, 11 green, 1 blue, 3 green
