Thanks for sharing, I think I’ll wait for 1 more day. Mine has been stuck with “on the way” status from Memphis TN, if they don’t work on weekends it’s whatever, but if they’re taking 7 business days in transit on top of that, ain’t no way it’s normal.
I’m gonna wait for Monday and see if it moves. (searching online only find people saying packages gets lost in Memphis )
Just to update on a few things I mentioned previously:
The ethernet to usb adapter worked great for debian networked install.
Trixie backports turned out to still have some firmware issues (wouldn’t recognize an external monitor) so I ended up upgrading to Forky testing, which fixed the external monitor issue.
I was able to get ollama running on the GPU with Ubuntu 26.04! With subsequent testing, I got it working on debian as well.
Overall, as others have said, super impressed with the Pro so far. Its so fast, quiet, and pleasant to use. My spouse has commented on the slim profile and build quality. It was worth the wait!
Mine was also promised to arrive today, but for some reason… They decided to make me wait just a little longer… Hopefully making it worth the wait even more!
Mine arrived, was hoping the Csodimm I had here would run on it at Jdec. I tried it on 2 other systems and will not run. After about 30 seconds it came up to the framwork screen with a warning and saying it will run at lower speeds. Hit Y and now installing Ubuntu on it. So happy it worked, 64gb is better than 32gb for me. Although its only running at 3200mt, it will work for most of the stuff that I am doing. With the cost of ram I do have 32gb of 5600 here so I may end up going that route. So far I am super impressed, coming from a Macbook M1 and I am loving this thing.
FW 13 Pro Batch 10 AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 DIY, no ram or SSD.
Ah, interesting that it warned you. Is it a moderate incompatibility that allows it to work, but just not at the expected speed? I thought it would be a hard yes/no as to whether it works.
