Also received a tracking number an hour ago and the order appears to have already left a FedEx facility.
It seems to me like there is set order even within the batches, I seem to have been one of the first people to receive an order preparation email and now one of the first who have received a shipping notification.
Ha! Just got mine too! Thanks, people, for confirming. On Reddit, it said that only around 50% received the batch preparation emails, so I assume we were one of the 50%.
Notified that my order was delivered! Excited to get into it tonight.
Notably, the package was marked as delivered by FedEx ~15 minutes prior to it actually landing on my doorstep. Also FedEx documented that I signed for the package - which I did not. I hope framework stops using FedEx in the future.
If you have the fortitude for it, it might be worth raising a support ticket about this. I think phantom signatures has come up in this forum before. What country are you in? I wonder if FedEx policy could vary from one country to another.
Just received mine! Shipped from Taiwan Tuesday afternoon, arrived in Prague Thursday afternoon. Crazy speed - I’m impressed. FedEx delivery driver called me when I was 20 mins away from home and waited for me, so contrary to what I’ve heard from others, my shipping experience has been incredibly positive.
I’ll finish some work and then get to assembling
UPDATE: It’s so good. Honestly very impressed with everything. The keyboard is the only thing that I preferred on my old Thinkpad. Speakers might not be Macbook-level, but still super good and miles ahead of my old T14s. The standout feature is the screen for sure: possibly the prettiest IPS panel I’ve ever seen.
Same here as well. This is taking a bit long in my opinion. I was hoping for emails to quickly trickle in after last week’s wave but the time that has passed since is now as long as between previous batches. Should have called our orders batch 7 in that case…
I think things might be a bit slow at Framework Towers because some frontline folks are on holiday. In another thread @Eagle said they’re going through the message queue on their own.
If anyone is having issues or questions, feel free to message me. I may not be able to provide certain updates until Tuesday ( US holiday). But I dont mind taking a look.
No, there can be some overlap of adjacent batches - that’s been mentioned here before I think.
I suspect that if 100 AMD units of a similar config rolled off the production line then 70 could be used to satisfy one batch, and then 30 would go into the next batch early.
I can agree that but it would be nice to hear the reason. Part of batch 7 now have received preparation emails while part of batch 6 is still waiting. I can agree that there is overlap, but this does not seem to be overlap but just sets of the batches that are more delayed.
I think FW would benefit from better message automation. That tends to happen with companies that scale up, so it may just be that they’re early on this part of that maturity journey. Customer Management Systems can kick off scheduled message workflows based on decision trees, so if there is an unexpected production delay, the customer is sent new information.
Or, alternatively, the supply chain could be opened up a bit, and more data on more things is published in the open by default. There might be commercial sensitivities here though, and it might take some major internal mindset-shifting and lobbying to make approaches/behaviours differ deliberately from corporate norms.
im so lost. Im on batch 10, supposed to ship in September. what do you mean you guys are on batch 6 and 7??? did the delivery timeline move and i didnt get the memo?
Well, September isn’t done yet, at least in my timezone
FWIW, batches have been moving quite quickly, with several batches per month. So I’d say you were still on target. I agree more accurate time-frames would be nice.
