Insurance through FedEx for Stolen/Damaged High-value Parcels in Australia or alternate method?

Hello!

Is it possible to have Delivery Insurance for Stolen/Damaged High-value parcels via FedEx to Australia or is there another way to do this?

Thanks!

Framework is the FedEx customer, not you, so you are unable to purchase insurance yourself. If the package does not arrive or arrives damaged, you would reach out to Framework support who would be responsible for getting you a replacement (or replacement parts).

Thanks.

Lets just say that your parcel gets stolen and FedEx says that they have delivered it. How would you be able to convince FW support that indeed you don’t have the parcel?

I believe when Framework ships with FedEx for such high value shipments, they require at least an indirect signature. This means that someone near the location must sign that they indeed saw the package being delivered.

When I had my shipment delivered from the Repair Center, they required direct signature, so a person at the address has to sign that they received the package.

If you are really afraid of your package getting stolen, I would recommend you choosing to have the package held at a FedEx location. This means that you go to your nearest FedEx to claim the package. You will need to provide ID to retrieve it.

This is all information for US FedEx, I do not know how the FedEx is in Australia, but I would expect at least some amount of similarities.

But in that case, does it help much if you had extra FedEx insurance? The scenario you present has FedEx claiming they delivered it, so they are going to deny the claim.

Alright, Thanks.

Thanks.

How would you do this?

Thanks.

Instead of posting “thanks,” please use the heart-shaped “like” button under a given post. I appreciate the gratitude, but it takes up a lot of space (and sends out a lot of email notifications) and the like button serves the same purpose.

Via FedEx Delivery Manager, if it is available in your region.

I believe you can directly see it when you go to FedEx Tracking. This way, you do not have to sign up for a FedEx Delivery manager account. It should be under more options on the FedEx page.

Here is a screenshot from the delivery for my Framework. As you can see towards the bottom there is a manage delivery option. Here you can choose hold at location.

Do you need to do anything special when using Hold at Location? Provide any details e.g. ID?

You will either have to provide a real ID with your name on it like your Driver’s License (in the US), or proof that you live at the address that the package was supposed to be delivered to.

You can find more details on the FedEx website.

I was also going to add in if this is available globally?

You would need to ask FedEx for your region specifically, as most of these features are region dependant.

And to add in Delivery Instructions you dont have to contact FW support?

No, you do not have to do anything related with contacting Framework. Just fill out the information needed and you’ll be good to go.

I wish I could have been in your position and see what happens if you click Delivery Instructions like if i had the tracking number. Where could I find what to expect?

Also I have contacted the FedEx here and they mentioned something about the sender giving authorisation to modify the delivery instructions. Unless I’m mistaken.
