Laptop won't power on unless connected to power, clock doesn't update when powered off

Hello,

I have a Framework 11th generation laptop running Windows 10 (purchased as part of Batch 4 back in 2021). I’ve recently started experiencing the following problems with my laptop:

  1. The laptop won’t power on unless it’s connected to outlet power. It will remain turned on after it’s powered on and disconnected from the outlet, but to get it turned on initially, it must be receiving some small amount of power from a USB-C cable.

  2. While the laptop is turned off and disconnected from outlet power, the system clock halts. When I turn the laptop back on, it displays the time at which it was last shut down.

I’ve tried to solve these problems by leaving the laptop connected to outlet power for multiple days in an effort to fully charge the batteries, but the issue persists.

Does anyone know what I need to do or replace in order to fix this problem?

Thank you!

CMOS battery is likely dead. Contact support and they’ll provide you with a replacement. Alternatively, if you know how to solder or can get someone to do it for you, you can request the CMOS replacement module.

I have exactly the same problem. I asked for help, I asked for a CMOS battery. For my recent support requests I didn’t receive any answer (even not a receival confirmation). What am I doing wrong? I used that email-address I added before to my user account (from the purchase of my laptop), so it should not got bounced. Also there is not phone hotline, nothing. That is not fitting for selling a notebook people need to do their work.
BTW: Here in Germany such a behaviour quickly lets arise rumours the company not responding might be bankrupt…

Are you using a standard email provider and have you whitelisted @frame.work and @framework.kustomerapp.com?

I used the mailadress configured in my customer account and didn‘t had any spam captures. I have no blacklisting for Frame.work or Subdomains. In Summer I received mails for my last support case.
