Question for people, Ever since I got my Framework 16 (batch 4) I’ve had this weird issue with the mouse pad and layout of the modules on top of the laptop. It’s gotten worse over time.
If I pick up the laptop from the left side, it triggers a click of the mouse (even though that is where a spacer is). It also seems to trigger my LED Matrix display spacers to reset each time if I rest my arms on it in a specific way.
This sometimes causes issues where the keyboard and mouse are considered not fully connected until I reboot. Anyone else seen something like this?
(Unrelated but I’ve also been plagued with if I’m using the GPU module if I boot up a game it will just restart the computer, then work until the next time after a break that I play a game again)
Was this prebuilt or DIY?
I would first attempt to re-seat the mid-plane connector - remove all input modules and pull the black/orange tab on the right side of the metal plate labeled #1 straight upward gently, then press the connector back into the socket with a level and firm motion until it settles in with a slight click. Then reinstall your input modules and see if your issue persists.
If that doesn’t work, I would reach out to Framework Support so they can assist you further to determine the root cause.
Hmm I tried this before, and I just did it again. Sadly the issue is still there. This is a DIY, but it’s been like this since I got it. I know there were reports of the keyboard being less sturdy, but this has been bothering more and more lately. I guess I’ll reach out to support.
Thank you!
Yeah, I’ve never had the issues you desribe with my FW16 DIY. Not sure which batch mine was, however. Support was super helpful with an unrelated keyboard issue I had, so I’m sure they will get you fixed up!
