Night Light Not Working

Hey everyone,

I’m not sure if this is a bug I’m encountering. Night Light works but it doesn’t respect either manual schedule or sunrise to sunset which is bizarre because it’s 9:30am and it still thinks it’s night time. Night Light will just stay on unless I disable it.

I’ve tried a variety of suggestions including re-calibrating the display color profile and manually turning on location services via gsettings. Nothing seems to work.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

For sunset/sunrise It might need your location configured so that it knows when to (de)activate.

I think it can use system location (Settings → Privacy & Security → Location) to do so, but in my case I have location disabled.

Instead I use the direct configuration for night light. On GNOME, for vaguely Seattle area:

$ dconf read /org/gnome/settings-daemon/plugins/color/night-light-last-coordinates
(47.0, -122.0)

Another thing: Check your monitors’ color profiles are activated in Settings → Color and maybe toggle that off/on.
