I like your point. However, I am also biased because I would like to see more for my 16 
. Keeping my fingers crossed because even with some of the troubles we faced with the 16, it brought (IMO) the community together more. In addition, I want to continue to support Framework’s mission. I really do like this laptop and several of my co-workers are (only slightly) jealous of it.
Cue argument: Watch it be for the desktop ya’ll 
So something big is getting better is clearly the FW16, its due for an update, and the desktop as the only other “big” thing is way to recent to get an upgrade.
Also judging by the earlier anouncements, there’s gonna be more than one update. I’d say three updates, to pick a good number.
My guesses:
Framework doesn’t have any Core Ultra Series 2 products yet. would be interesting to see one of these in the 16. Really any update to the 16 would be exciting. I was considering buying the desktop but I’ll wait to see what’s next 
It has to be something for Framework 16, other than Framework Desktop, it’s the ‘something’ that can be considered ‘big’.
Hoping for something newer/better than a 7700S dGPU, I wouldn’t even mind if we got a Strix Halo option for it, even if it’s only the 8 cores/8050S/32GB option, it’s ideal for the use-case I have for the 16 and it’d be more efficient than having a dGPU attached to it, though pricing is something that’ll have to be considered.

Naw, the “big gets bigger” phrase has to be a reference to the 16”. BUT your mention of a 14” chassis for what is now the 13” laptop is thought-provoking. The 13” isn’t “big”, but the 16” kindof is…what if it’s an 18” chassis for what is now the 16” laptop? Is that too crazy?
90% odds this is new CPU/GPU stuff for the Framework 16. Which is great! It would be especially great if they offered a discrete Intel GPU. Currently these are arguably the best value for money, and Intel, in its CPUs at least, has a reputation for particularly good Linux support.

Haven’t seen this show up in the thread at all, but absolutely dying for better speakers on my 16. I feel like I’m playing music out of a wish/temu bluetooth speaker I got for $4
Likely won’t see that. Speakers need to work together with the housing / chamber they’re placed into. We haven’t seen better speakers in the FL13…so everything being equal, I would say it’s unlikely to happen for the FL16.
Just a little reckless speculation here…
A. I agree with the consensus that “something big” probably means the FW16, especially since “just got better” implies an existing product.
B. Could the eyes mean that it is related to graphics; e.g., GPU and/or display? (Or just to watch the announcement?)
C. The symmetry of the 13+7 diamonds in the top/left and bottom/right makes me wonder if it has something to do with screen rotation - could it be a new rotating display? It obviously can’t be a 360 “yoga” hinge, but could it be a 180 rotate and fold down with the screen side out? 
If so, a touchscreen would seem to be in order.
Finally something for the FW16! Watch it just be a new keyboard or a solid track pad section. I feel like I should expect to be disappointed. 
Could they be making an oculink port/adapter thing for the expansion slot? That’s seven characters…
