(SOLVED) Not turning on + fingerprint scanner flashing

Hello everyone,

I recently ordered a Framework 16 (prebuilt AMD AI 300 GPU running Windows 11) to be my daily driver for college and it came in yesterday, when I assembled it, installed the drivers I needed, and got everything together. Everything was working perfectly fine. I then shut it down and plugged it in overnight.

This morning, I tried to turn it on again to find that it will not turn on and that the fingerprint scanner is steadily pulsing white. The keyboard and underside were warm to the touch, so assuming that it was overheating for some reason I flipped it over and put a fan on it. Coming back later when it was cooled off, it still does not turn on. My dad says he opened it briefly after I went to bed to check the charge and then unplugged it, so it probably just went back to sleep instead of shutting down properly, but it still doesn’t boot even when I have it plugged in.

I do not know what the fingerprint scanner pulsing white means. Is there a support article explaining it that I missed?

I also did not install a BIOS, since I assumed it would be included with the prebuilt. Could that be part of the problem?

Thank you all. -Ray

UPDATE: One of my friends recommended a hard shutdown and reset via holding down the power button, which worked. It had just gotten stuck in sleep mode. I set it to sleep when the lid was closed. Guess I’ll change that in the settings.

Since this is abnormal behavior please do check if this is a known issue in the firmware you are using, and either way try to upgrade the firmware to a more recent version and check if it is solved and if not drop an issue here so the firmware team can look at it:
