I ordered the framework laptop 13 on October 01, 2022, Delivery Batch 4.
I am not a careless user, and I have not treated my laptop and charger roughly.
However, recently, I found that the outer insulation of the USB-C cable of the charger is broken, as shown in the photo. After using black insulating tape to fix the problem, the broken parts were further torn down.
(1) Should I stop using this since the inner wire is exposed? Is it dangerous?
(2) Could you please recommend some other USB-C cables that are much more reliable and can be used for the voltage for laptop’s charging?
Contact support, they had an issue during production with these cables, which makes them fray very easily. You may be able to get them replaced even if out of warranty
Otherwise just get a USB power delivery capable cable with good rating and ideally a braided outer shell from Amazon or whatever.
As far as quality cables go, the better quality ones from Anker have proven very durable and many are rated for higher wattages. This is my personal experience.
