So there’s a bright light coming from under esc key no other key has that problem not even the del key opposite it. Is this a defect? My laptop is definitely out of its return time.

Can you post a picture of the esc key relative to the other keys? Maybe also one in a dark environment so that it is easier to see the difference.
Also no Framework 16s should be out of their warranty period yet, so you can easily contact Framework Support to receive a replacement if the keyboard is defective.

Get in touch with support and if it can not be resolved, a quick keyboard replacement will take care of it. 
Side thoughts: “The electrons are trying to get out and they are using the ESCAPE key as an exit! I knew we should have never labeled it so obvious anything can figure it out…” [This is meant as a joke]

that is not a defect. the key is just high enough that you can see both led’s under the key. you should see it under the escape key, delete key and the bottom arrow keys when viewing angle is low.
