Expecting it will already delay to half or 2nd half of April (I’m a realist, not a pessimist… ),
ordered the i7-1185G7,
3 DP,
2 USB-A,
1 MicroSD,
2 HDMI,
4 USB-C.
It’s going to be my daily driver at work (can choose my own for now),
Want to se if Fedora with a Gnome Desktop will work for me with Libre-Office, nothing worse.
I’m worried about making the connections with the cloudservices thy want me to use at the office (Onedrive, Sharepoint etc.)
Not worried about browser-based applications like PowerApps, PowerAutomate, PowerBI etc. (If anyone knows how to solve this, I’d lóve to have a (virtual) drink with them… )
Want to do some serious promotion at work for them to use Framework-laptops over preliminary-landfill like Lenovo etc.
Another 22nd of February order here. From the Netherlands. Like 5 minutes after opening orders in my country, I ordered
No update emails yet, still waiting on the “chance” to pay for the rest of the laptop, let alone it beeing sent. It says I’m batch 9 though… We will see.
I do believe I have a nice setup:
Configuration
CPU: Intel® Core™ i7-1165G7
Memory: 32GB (2 x 16GB) DDR4-3200
Storage: 1TB - WD_BLACK™ SN850 NVMe™
Customization
Keyboard: English International
Expansion Cards
1 HDMI
3 USB-C
2 USB-A
The Linex link doesn’t help, it has the latest update as “Shipment check weight” on the 16th… That being said, the DPD UK tracking informs me that the laptop arrived in the UK in the early hours of this morning, and I’ve just had a text saying it’ll be delivered today! Kinda surprised how long it took to travel internationally (with minimal updates), but I guess it’s nearly here now…
Indeed, I checked in with Support just to be sure (since I was a bit concerned about the risk of mails ending up deleted as spam), but they reassured me that NL/Austria/Ireland is not quite shipping yet. We should be fine.
And at least indications (from this thread) are that as soon as someone gets prepped, it starts happening fast.
Just got my one 5 days shipping very impressive. The first thing that hits you is how well its deisgned. Took around 10 mins to get setup so again testimant to the Franework team!
Late Update: Received my two DIY i5-1135G7 units on Friday, 18/03 in Germany. Ordered Jan 20 and 26. Got shipped 14/03, so four days of delivery. After handover to DHL in Singapore it took them two days for the delivery.
Units work flawflessy, but one got the battery drain bug and did not start. If you also experience this (Laptop does not start, if you plug in power the LED on the side does not turn on), you can follow this instruction:
Should be fixed with a new BIOS version (3.07), see:
Hey guys, I ordered my framework laptop on the 17th of March. Till now I have only paid the deposit. After the pre-order confirmation email no further communication.
On the order menu and email it says that the laptop (i7-1165G7, 16GB RAM, 512GB Storage, English Int keyboard, 3 USB-C, 1 HDMI) will be delivered in batch 9, end of March. Going through the forum it seems that that would be quite fast for framework.
Do you think I can expect it to be shipped in March or should I adjust my expectations and expect that they change it to batch 10 for April?
@Proximus I don’t see any reason to think they would bump you to a later batch. I also think that if they say a certain batch will ship in a certain month, it’s not likely there will be delays (with the exception of public holidays in Feb delaying batch 8, but I haven’t heard of anything like that for batch 9). The whole point of the batching system is that they know how fast they can crank out the orders, isn’t it?
There are people on this thread who ordered to the UK and got their devices in about 2 weeks. Seems reasonable to me that we can expect the same, once they actually start processing orders to NL.
Btw, does your email say end of March, specifically?
@FlyingFox.of.theYard I thought it said “Batch 9, End of March”, just checked and I have to correct myself, it says "Free Shipping Batch 9 - Ships March ".
So maybe good news, hope to get it soon. Really exited to see the modular system, one of the main reasons I choose framework.
@FlyingFox.of.theYard My current laptop is still good, the only problem is that it lacks ram for some of my daily tasks. It only has 8GB, soldered on the motherboard.
That’s why I am so excited about the framework laptop, if in the feature my 16GB config is not sufficient it’s easy to add more.
Hope your new laptop comes before your current one becomes aware it is getting replaced.
The tracking link I received via email from Framework showed “Processed for Export” for a week, I also kept checking the DPD tracking site with the same tracking number and it also showed as “In Transit”. I received a text message (no email) in the morning to say it would be delivered between a specific hour of the day.
Date Shipped: 15/03/22
Date Received: 22/03/22
I hope that helps!
Also, people who ordered late February/early March should relax, I ordered mid January and just received mine. It doesn’t sound like there is any issue and it looks like Framework are shipping out in order.
