I’m another lurker who’s in Batch 1 and plans to run Linux (I haven’t run Windows on a personal machine for years). I have plans for some software projects to try out the new AMD chip too, which I’m excited to get into!
me, continuing to wait patiently for the payment / shipping email:
Seconded - I was just charged too! (Not a statement I’d usually be excited about )
We have been blessed indeed
OMG! It’s happening!
Payment complete for me.
“Your order will ship within the next few business days.”
No doubt this goes without saying: if any of you are able to test battery life yourselves, I’m curious what the results will be. I’m not so concerned about what it’s like while gaming, but for regular day-to-day all day usage. Not sure what to make of the initial reports from reviewers. My hope is that it’s at least as good as the Intel setup. For clarity, I’m in Batch 3, with a Ryzen 5 7640u.

For those who are wondering about the poor battety performance reported by Ars technica, the third photo shows a USB-A extension card on the back right position, which leads to high power draw.
If you follow the thread a little further, you will find that Ars stated they reused the photos from a previous review.
And even if that photo was taken of their AMD config, it wouldn’t be definitive proof. The photographer might’ve chosen that layout for purely aesthetic reasons.
Great… now im busy-waiting on my email account Ryzen 5 by the way.

I really wasn’t expecting this ratio, maybe more of a 50/50 split so kudos to @Matt_Hartley and the team for creating the guides and doing the testing to make sure we can enjoy the OS of our choice.
I’m glad everyone in batch 1 is starting to get charged.
I’m just going to sit here and wait for batch 5…not jelly at all
@danso where did you get does Linux numbers? Also hell yeah. I’ll be running fedora when I get mine
It’s a poll someone posted just a bit further up in this thread.
